Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
This kind of dress has its pros and cons. The pros: big sale, lots of sizes, bright color, very versatile shape. The cons: that bright color, the buckle belt, and possibly the “faux wrap” skirt (you can’t see online exactly how far the slit, if any, goes). So here’s what I’d do: order it and see how it fits me in the bust, waist, and skirt — and then (if all is good in those dimensions) consider taking it to a tailor to remove the belt, and sew up the slit (if there is any). For some reason I’m seeing this with earthy neutrals — for a business casual day, perhaps a cognac corset belt, black tights, brown knee-high boots, and a gray boyfriend cardigan. For a more dressed-up day I might try it with an olive (or navy/black/white/gray/brown) blazer, sheer hose, and classic pumps. The dress was $139, but is now marked to $49.97 at Nordstrom Rack (which has some great deals on party dresses if you’re looking). Adrianna Papell Cap Sleeve Dress with Buckle Belt
