For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
I’ve been obsessed with the navy/pink combo since I saw a small story in Lucky about how it was the color scheme for a special edition “SC bag” (not available for sale online at all – Sofia Coppola wanted a hybrid of several other Vuitton bags so she went to the Paris store with a drawing and placed a custom order; the company liked the bag so much they now sell it as the “SC” bag). Anyhoo: there’s a lot to like about this suit: the masculine shape and color mixed with the delightfully feminine grosgrain ribbon details, the modern yet preppy shape, the vaguely affordable pricetag. Mysteriously, the jacket and bottoms are different fabrics – the jacket is a woven cotton (and lined in a “contrasting pinstripe”), while both the skirt and pants are wool (and apparently unlined). The jacket (Red Fleece Three-Button Jacket) is $248, the pants (Red Fleece Straight Leg Pinstripe Trousers) are $128, and the skirt (Red Fleece A-Line Button Skirt) is $148.
